4 Modern Tips To Reduce Constipation When Traveling

Whether it’s work, a wedding or getting on the beach, feeling constipated when you travel is THE WORST right?

You step off the plane feeling chic and ready for action and wake up the 2nd or 3rd morning feeling 3 months pregnant...

So just to be clear- this happens to most of us so nothing to be embarrassed about.

Our bodies are pretty routine for the most part when we’re groovin’ day-to-day at home...

But suddenly you’re waking up in a different bed, probably in a different temperature, drinking different water, eating different food...and maybe even a little too much also.

Everything is a little different.

So it’s not totally crazy for your body to go into a little “flight or fight” state and start to put a pause on regularity.

But there are definitely ways to help move things along. Here are a few tips to help the next time you’re traveling…

1. HYDRATE. You know this is my #1 tip for everything by now :p EXTRA important when you’re traveling. Pack your water bottle and start every morning with at least 16 oz + plenty throughout the day.

2. MAGNESIUM. This little supplement is a LIFESAVER for traveling. I suggest taking 1-2 capsules before bed every night.

3. DIGESTIVE ENZYMES. These are great to take before meals (especially heavier ones). They boost digestion + help break down food...just carry a little container in your purse and take about 10-20 minutes before you eat (basically when you sit down at the table).

4. HOT WATER + LEMON. First thing in the AM this will get things flowing AND boost your immunity- also essential to prioritize when on the road.

If you’re on the go a lot and feel like you just can’t get a handle on healthy living let me know.- this is my specialty.

When you’ve got a routine in place and feel empowered around food, rather than controlled by it, you’ll be surprised at how much fewer symptoms like travelers’ constipation becomes.
