4 Reasons Why I Was Still Binge Eating As A Health Coach

Does everyone think you're a healthy eater, but behind the scenes you feel like a total fraud?

You aren’t alone. These feelings plagued me for most of my life- especially as a HEALTH COACH who was bingeing behind the scenes.

Most of my food binges were centered around "clean" ingredients...things that anyone would peek into the pantry and say "whoa she's so healthy...wish I had that willpower".

I'd hop on coaching calls & immediately scarf down bags of nuts, protein bars, boxes of granola, gigantic smoothies or jars of peanut butter & hide the evidence as quickly as possible.

When I finally got support & began my own Intuitive Eating journey, I realized WHY my relationship with food felt like a soap opera:

1. I was still dieting without realizing it. My ‘safe’ foods & eating habits had become so ingrained, that I just thought that I was being healthy. But when I started to understand the beliefs were disrupting my self-trust, I could finally listen to my body & enjoy food without fear.

2. My emotional needs weren’t a priority. Even though I might not have been experiencing cravings, I would still catch myself bingeing, self-sabotaging & judging myself. I learned how to address the emotional needs that I’d been shoving under a rug by using sustainable coping tools.

3. I wasn’t listening to my body. When I discovered how to listen to my body's hunger, fullness & satisfaction cues, it was like a lightbulb went on. I felt like I could finally experience comfort in my own skin, after years of only knowing extreme hunger & fullness

4. I was still restricting. As a Health Coach, I thought I knew all about balancing blood sugar. I confused this with trendy fasts, timed eating, and restrictive food rules. And because of this, I would always end up bingeing. Even though the idea of eating a variety of foods more consistently freaked me out at first, my binges started became more infrequent & eventually stopped.

Look, chances are you already know how to work out + eat healthfully…

But if you’re going through the motions & still feeling stuck & anxious around food, that’s a clear indicator that this is related to something deeper.

Becoming an Intuitive Eater is a process of unlearning and relearning with plenty of highs & lows. But when all of these pieces start flowing, that’s when the real food freedom & authenticity occurs.

I know you’re ready to create new sustainable skills that will help you feel calm about food & confident in your body.
