3 Mindset Shifts To Create Calm + Confidence
If you're feeling a little unsettled with the transition from Summer to Fall, I want to let you know,
I see you.
I get you.
And you are not alone.
As much as I love taking a break from the sun & cozying up in a sweater with a bowl of soup (yes it actually gets cold in San Diego), changing seasons still feels emotional.
These days, I give myself plenty of space to feel all of the feelings and notice what else is there when possible, along with a few key mindset shifts.
I spent years brushing my emotions aside & steamrolling into planning mode as a defense- usually creating a goal list for myself to achieve before Jan 1.
And each year I'd feel defeated when to-dos didn't end up getting checked off.
Well this year I’d like to offer a reframe that's helped me tremendously.
These are 3 mindset shifts that I've made over the last couple of years to support my physical, mental & emotional well-being during high productivity transition times:
Instead of creating a "To Do" list, I've begun referring to my goals/tasks as a "GET To Do" list. Sounds simple (& it is), but so powerful. These little ways that we speak to ourselves have a major impact on our overall confidence + happiness
Rather than focusing on my goals, I reflect on how I want to FEEL- the woman that I'm stepping into. Ex. Visualize your future self (6 months, 1 year, 5 years from now). If you were watching a movie of your life, would your current actions reflect the woman that you're becoming? I keep this in mind whenever I'm experiencing decision fatigue or need a little reset- "what would Katelyn 2.0 do?"
Get curious. It's easy to get caught up in self-judgment, comparison & negative self-talk. But when we build a habit around observing what our actual feeling is, the story that's attached and where it's coming from, we feel more empowered & confident about moving forward
And isn't that what we're all striving for at the end of the day? To feel good? - to feel GREAT?
You deserve to feel great my love. Focus on the baby steps and remember- progress not perfection.
