A Few of My Favorite Things...

Something new that I’m trying out as we head into a new year…..If you’re like me, you probably don’t have the time (or interest) to read through a full blog post each day/week. So that being said, I took a step back to think about who I’m writing for. I know you’re super busy, but ya need a little inspiration for how to stay healthy so that you can give 100% to the things you’re passionate about. Right? And Pinterest is great, but let’s be real- how many of the thing’s that you’re scrolling and saving do you actually go back and look at? I feel ya girl. I too have a million folders filled with these crazy ideas that I push to the back burner…flower petals frozen in ice cubes, the worlds easiest vegan cinnamon rolls, 5-minute laundry detergent….you get my point.

So. In an effort to get you inspired…and to selfishly keep track for myself (ha!), I’m dishing out a weekly Hustle + Glow post. Just a snap of my wellness takeaways from the daily grind that week, which you might like for yourself. Nothing wordy, easily digestible and formatted so that you can skim right through and pick up anything that’s calling to you. I’m sure this will ebb and flow, but let’s give it a whirl and see how it goes…

SHOP: Leucadia Farmers Market (Sundays). One of my favorite things about Southern Cali is the year-round farmers market’s that are sprinkled all over the map. This was a new one for me and would highly recommend for anyone looking to pick up their weekly produce- so many booths with tons of variety….but not so much that you feel like you need to push through crowds. You can get in/out and on with your day or hang out and browse if you want. Plenty of other amazing finds, but the abundance of local fruit & veggie stands set this apart from some of my other favorites.

NOURISH: Raw Revelations. Slightly obsessed with this company that I stumble on at the farmers market. I struggled not buying everything at the booth but ended up going with their MSM Morning Mix for a little energy, as well as the IQ supplement to stabilize stress/anxiety. Have been taking both each morning this past week and am definitely sleeping more soundly- also just feeling a bit more chill in my body. Will be trying more of their products for sure.

READ: Mind Body Green wellness trend post. I know I’m recommending a blog within a blog, but this it too good not to miss. MBG is always spot on with their predictions for the upcoming year (just go back and look at the previous articles that they link to). This article didn't skip a beat- it was packed with interesting thoughts....Prebiotics for gut health, natural beauty becoming the next “organic food”, and big-name retailers like Target/Wal-Mart appealing to the wellness space were some of my fav’s. Take a peek and let me know what yours are!

EAT: Primal Kitchen salad dressing. I’ll admit I’m an oil & vinegar kinda gal- tried and true to my “keep it simple” philosophy ;) And plus- most “healthy” dressings/marinades in the grocery store aren’t that great- either crappy ingredients or they taste kinda funky. BUT I tried both the Caesar and Green Goddess from PK this week and holy cow they’re so good. I marinated brussel sprouts, topped on my salad, drizzled on tacos….try them! Packed with healthy fat, fresh ingredients and super good flavor.

SOUL: Lady Bird. I finally got around to seeing this gem of a film after hearing person after person tell me how fantastic it was. Well, it gave me all the feelings too. I can’t say enough good things about this coming of age story- it hit home on so many parts of my adolescence and I’d be surprised if it didn’t do the same for you too. Incredibly heartwarming in a non-cheesy way….a must see if you haven’t already.

Until next time…sending lot’s of love + healthy vibes!
