For years this was one of those items that I breezed past in the supermarket...rrrr what am I supposed to do with it? I’ll leave it to the sushi experts….
You guys this is such an intimidating food for so many people and it’s so sad. Ginger has so many amazing healing benefits - the top 3 being immune support, reducing inflammation and aiding with digestion.
Perfect for this time of year when everyone’s getting sick!
How to use:
1. Wash and store in your fridge.
2. When you’re ready to eat, cut off however much you want and put the rest back...ginger is so sturdy you don’t even have to cover it! I love low maintenance food.
TIP: You don’t have to peel the skin off. Seriously. So many people get hung up on this part and scrub the idea all together. So just slice off however much you want and you’re all set to go.
I love tossing 1/2” into my smoothies. You can also place a few slices in boiling water to make your own ginger tea.
Another option- grate about 1 tsp worth and add to stir fry, salads or even baked goods for a little flavor zing.
