Business Name/Brief Description:
Sam Vander Wielen LLC. I help coaches + creatives legally protect their businesses with my DIY legal templates. I help women learn how to get paid, use contracts, and grow a legally legit business.

How do you usually start your mornings?
I start my mornings with coffee with my husband, Ryan. We usually like to make coffee and relax together before we get our day started.

Before I start working on the business, I try to meditate, journal, take a walk, read something inspirational, or workout. I don't really like to have a set routine that I stick to everyday. Instead, I like having a "menu" of things that I can choose from that day, depending on what I need. I can definitely tell a difference on those days when I don't pick *anything* from my menu, and instead jump into work.

What get's you excited about the work that you do?
I love that I get to help women launch or grow their own businesses. Because I know exactly what being your own boss can mean for you: freedom, flexibility, fulfillment, pride, giving back, etc.

It's really cool to watch my clients as they build these incredible businesses helping so many people around the world. I love that I can give them a piece of legal comfort that allows them to go out and do what they love doing.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a woman who's driven and passionate about her work — whether it's as a coach (life, health, fitness, business, finance, etc.) or a creative (web designer, branding, copywriter, etc.) — she wants to make an impact.

My clients are concerned about making sure they do things the right way. They want to be, feel and look legit. They're not fly-by-night kind of businesses -- they're in this for the long haul. And they want to look and feel professional so they can set boundaries, get paid, and make sure they're protected.

What’s one piece of advice you teach consistently, that would help someone take action today?
One thing I'm consistently teaching clients is to begin as you want to go on. If you want to build a legitimate, professional business — you need and must have legal protection and contracts in place now. Not later, not once you make more money or have more clients — begin as you mean to go on.

Let's segue to girl talk... Where do you get most of your clothes?
Madewell, Nordstrom, and Lululemon (I live in Align leggings and joggers!). I've been trying to pair down my closet, especially since becoming an online entrepreneur. I don't need the same type of clothes I did before.

Now, I'm more realistic about what my day-to-day life looks like. I wake up, have my morning time, and then sit down to work at home or head to a coffee shop. At the end of the day, I'm usually taking a walk with Ryan, cooking at home, or trying fun foods out. So I want clothes that are flexible, comfortable, and that make me feel energized and confident.

What’s the best TV show you’ve binge-watched?
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or Parks & Recreation! I can't believe I'd never seen either before. We binged both this winter and loved them.

Can you describe what a night of self-care would look like for you?
A night of self-care for me would be to cook a delicious plant-based meal at home (we're both vegetarians) and catch up on a favorite show or two with Ryan. I'd also read whatever novel I'm reading at the time (right now I'm reading Pachinko and it's great) and maybe take a bath.

Which girl boss are you currently inspired by?
I really love watching Rachel Bell and how she's building out her program, Online Coach Accelerator. She always seems in integrity and to truly care about her clients and their success. I think she gives them really, really smart advice, too.

I'm always inspired by my friend, Mel Judson, too — especially as she pivots from doing web design for entrepreneurs only to now also coaching them to help them learn how to grow their business.

What’s one wellness trend that you have on your list to try?
I'm not so sure if it's a trend or not, but I really want to go try a body work session!

If someone wanted to get to know you better where should they go?
