Business Name/Brief Description:
Studio Luniste. A photo + video creative team based in our hometown, San Diego, CA.

Our work is always inspired by nature and the organic way we artistically connect to it and the people in it. We focus on four elements: branding, studio, lifestyle, and events. I know it may seem a lot, but we are story tellers and love the ability to tell different stories through photography & videography.

How do you usually start your mornings?
Honestly, my kids or husband wakes me up in the morning, my alarm clocks. I'm a night owl and edit into the night and need help getting up in the morning. I lie in bed for a bit, check my email/social media for five minutes thenI get the kids showered and ready, then it's my turn to get ready. We make breakfast, then off to work- either a shoot or a meeting usually.

What get's you excited about the work that you do?
There's two major things — I'm staying creative and am doing what I've been loving doing for 13 years now. Also, I love meeting people- different people in different parts of their lives. I love being a part of a community and supporting others professionally and personally! I've always been an introvert/hermit, but I'm opening up more and realizing how communication and support play an important role in my career. I've met amazing people in my journey so far, like Katelyn :) and am so so thankful!

How would you describe your ideal client?
I love clients that have a vision of their session and are open to direction based on my experience. Also, clients that are up for anything are so fun because those make for great photographs!

The best feeling is when I start describing my vision for my client's session and they stop me and say yes already because they already know and trust me for the vibe of their shoot.

What’s one piece of advice you teach consistently, that would help someone take action today?
Stop taking things so seriously, especially when on a shoot. Let loose, have fun, laugh, be comfortable... those are the best tips I can give to a client but also to anyone.

Life is short, be you... give me sass, be a boss, and don't give a crap if people are looking at you if we're shooting in the middle of a busy coffee shop.

Let's segue to girl talk... Where do you get most of your clothes?
Target. It's my go to for everything! I don't have time to go to multiple stores or websites, unless I have something specific I want, because I'm juggling owning a business and being a mom to two toddlers. Anyway, Target's been on point for basics and trends, for the whole family, so it's a win win! If I do go on a rare shopping trip, I'll hit up Madewell, Zara, Asos (online), boutique stores in SD, and a Goodwill!

What’s the best TV show you’ve binge-watched?
Just recently, I binge-watched You because Penn Badgley obviously. But the best I've binged was the whole series of Gilmore Girls, a forever go to.

Can you describe what a night of self-care would look like for you?
First, I hide from my kids and leave them with the husband and I start with taking off my makeup with some jojoba oil, better than any makeup remover I say. Then I wash my face with charcoal soap because I'm a bit on the oiler side. With a clean face, I rub face oil onto the dry areas of my face first, then go again with a bit more and do some facial rubbing/stretching down to my neck. I light a candle and smudge myself with sage and palo santo to finish off my night routine. If I'm feeling a bit extra, I do a quick tarot pull if I need to focus or need clarity for anything.

Which girl boss are you currently inspired by?
I'm inspired by not just one, but all the mama bosses out there that are juggling kids and work. It's hard. There's sacrifices & struggles, but there's also the hustle you need because you're supporting not just yourself anymore. I can't think of anyone specific, but I think it's because I'm always inspired when I come across a mom getting shit done... oh and they have to be humble too lol. Love my humble, hard working mamas.

What’s one wellness trend that you have on your list to try?
So, I bought gua sha and I've read the instructions and seen YouTube tutorials, but I still don't know if I'm doing it right haha. I need help on that, along with an ice roller for you face when you wake up. Just sounds so refreshing, even more since Spring/Summer is coming up!

If someone wanted to get to know you better where should they go?
I have a website for my business that is but we are in the middle of a rebrand, so things may not be as current on there as of now. I am must current on IG: @studio.luniste and my personal IG: @charlenesiliezar and I respond to DM's quicker than email too. I loves sharing my business and personal life, so give me a follow on both!
